EA Is Installed But Not Taking Trades

Common reasons why the PipsCrusher EA might not be executing trades and how to fix each one.

If your PipsCrusher EA is attached to a chart but not opening trades, check these common causes:

1.AutoTrading Is Disabled in MT5 Look at the AutoTrading button in MT5's toolbar. It should show a green icon. If it's red, click it to enable. Also check that "Allow Algo Trading" is enabled in the EA's properties.
2.WebRequest Not Configured The EA needs permission to make HTTP requests. Go to Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → check "Allow WebRequest for listed URLs" → add your API URL (e.g., https://api.pipscrusher.com). Click OK and restart the EA.
3.Incorrect API Key Double-check that the API key in the EA's input parameters matches the one on your dashboard. If unsure, generate a new key and update the EA.
4.Runtime Mode Set to "Signals Only" or "Paused" Check your dashboard Settings → Preferences. The runtime mode must be set to "Auto-Trade" for the EA to receive trade intents.
5.No Pending Intents If no signals have been generated recently, there won't be any trade intents for the EA to execute. Check the Signals page on your dashboard to see recent activity.
6.Plan Limits Reached If you've reached your plan's maximum concurrent trades, new intents are blocked. Close some positions or upgrade your plan.
7.Spread Too Wide If the current market spread exceeds the EA's "Max Spread" setting, it will skip the trade. This is a safety feature. You can adjust the max spread in the EA's input parameters.
8.Wrong Chart or Disconnected While the EA can trade any pair from any chart, it must be attached to an active chart. Make sure MT5 is connected to your broker (green status bar at the bottom).
9.EA Errors in Log Check the "Experts" tab in MT5's terminal window (Ctrl+T). Error messages there will indicate specific issues (authentication failures, network errors, etc.).

If none of these resolve the issue, try removing the EA from the chart and re-attaching it with fresh settings.
